What is transport integration?

An integrated transport system enables the planning, coordination, and subsequent evaluation of data about various types of transportation in a specific area or city. Its goal is to increase the efficiency and intensity of transport for passengers, as well as to improve the conditions for public transportation.

One of the main benefits of public transport integration is that it provides passengers with easy access to information about different types of transportation, tickets, as well as the current status and location of vehicles involved in the system.

The result of the Integrated Transport System (ITS) is primarily a decrease in the number of passengers using individual transport modes in favor of public transport. This positively impacts the speed, flow, and environmental sustainability of passenger transport.

The main tools for achieving these goals include the introduction of various types of electronic tickets, which allow passengers to use multiple modes of transport while only paying once. Combined with the optimization of route networks, connections, and reducing transfer times between different transport types, a significant increase in mobility and economic growth can be expected.
